[Ethereal-users] Need help to understand output

I often see in packet captures lines which contain examples like the following:

Protocol Info

TCP 2521 > pop3 [ACK] Seq=55 ACK=1607 Win=65535 Len=0

 --- or another example  ---  

TCP pop3 > 2523 [SYN, ACK] Seq=0 Ack=1 Win=32768 Len=0 MSS=1380

I see  lots of different numbers associated with "pop3".  I am very new to using Ethereal.  Could someone help me understand what I am seeing?
