- Subject: [Ethereal-users] tethereal syntax question

I have run into a
problem with trying to set up a capture using tethereal. I would like to
it up so that I get a revolving 24 hour capture, in 30 min increments.
While this is simple in Ethereal, in practice with tethereal (I only have a
command line interface on this particular server) it is not working. My
initial attempt was:
tethereal -w
file.foo -a filesize 100000 -b 48:18000
In practice, after
the initial file capture of 100 MB, I got 48 tiny files that continued to
overwrite themselves. I have tried all sorts of variations on the -b
option, and I can not get any of the ring buffer files to be over
124kb
According to the man
pages on this server, I am using v 0.99. Is there a bug with the -b
option? Do I have the syntax incorrect?
Any assistance would
be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
