Ok, a network tap. I can connect router output cable to one jack of this three-way, then cable from the second jack to the DSL modem. This leave the third jack for my 4th PC. When I build the connector for the cable to this 4th PC, I can omit connecting the transmit pair. So, the 4th PC gets receive signals only. I think that part will work. I'm not sure whether I can actually get the 4th PCs network adaptor to process the bits (PPoE) never having done this b4. BTW, I have a 4-port ethernet hub. If I placed it between the router and DSL modem, would it work there ? I could use my little 3-way RJ48 adaptor then for what it's intended for that being a test adaptor and not tie it up as a network tap. Thanks!
