Ethereal-users: November 2005

Hi All,
I would like to analyze MPEG2 TS streams using ethereal. Browsing in
google, I've a found a binary in
http://www.network-research.org/mp2tsdis.html that is supposed to do
just that. However, when trying to analyze a RTP stream that has a MPEG2
TS payload, the MPEG dissector does not work, although the RTP dissector
does identify its payload as a MPEG2 TS. However, if I mark a single
packet's RTP payload and export it as raw binary data, the MPEG
dissector seems to work properly. My questions are:
1. Is there a plan to support the MPEG2 TS protocol in the official
ethereal release?
2. Did anyone succeed in using the existing dissector on top of a
transport protocol (and in particular RTP) ?
3. Is there a way to extract only the RTP payloads from a complete
capture and to save it as a raw binary data ?
Thanks,
Yaron
