[Ethereal-users] ethereal slow to start capture with winpcap 3.1

Hi,

 

With winpcap 3.1, starting a capture takes more than 20 seconds (with or without realtime display). After the capture window is displayed all is working fine, but the delay is really annoying. However when I am logged as administrator (or launch ethereal as administrator user), the capture starts immediatly. I dont have that problem wen using winpcap 3.0.

 

versions:

Ethereal Version 0.10.13

Compiled with GTK+ 2.4.14, with GLib 2.4.7, with WinPcap (version unknown),
with libz 1.2.3, with libpcre 6.3, with Net-SNMP 5.2.1.2, with ADNS.
WinPcap version 3.1 (packet.dll version 3, 1, 0, 27), based on libpcap version 0.9[.x] on Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, build 2195
