How does the current n days option determine when to switch to the next file?

Oops, first think, than mail ;-)

Of course, you're correct on this. We already have a timeout feature similar to the one you've mentioned.

Ability to specify the time of day to move on to the next file in "Capture Options", Capture File(s)", "Use multiple files", "Next file every 1 day(s)".
So when the capture files are to be from 12:00 AM to 12:00 AM, the capture can be started at anytime and not have to wait till 12:00 AM to start the capturing.
Anyone besides me think this would be useful?

Well, you may add it to the wishlist if you like.

As I'm not interested in this feature and I'm mostly the one doing capture related development in the past, don't expect it to be added in the near future.

BTW: the capture info is already very complicated. I'm in favour of simplifying it instead of complicating it by adding new features (with usually limited use).

Why not simply use "dedicated tools" to start Ethereal at the required capture time?
