Switch promiscuous mode off, my "Intel PRO/Wireless 2200b/g card" is capturing this way. If promiscuous mode is on, it won't capture any packets. However, this behaviour might depepent on the installed interface driver.

Of course, you'll see only the traffic to/from your machine.

You don't need to start WinPcap by hand, this is usually done by Ethereal (but you need to be Administrator that way). It shouldn't hurt if you do it the way you've done it.

Be careful with personal firewalls, they sometimes make problems.
