[Ethereal-users] why i receive only packets to and from my machine in wlan

i used ethereal to capture wireless packets in red hat 9.0,i have used 
"ifconfig wl promisc" and set my wlan card in promiscuous mode.but why i 
receive only  packets to and from my machine .When I start ethereal,system 
information that symbol 'pcap_version'has different size in shared 
boject,consider re-linking is shown.I  can receive packets to and from my 
machine so i dont now if version conflict lead to this result.
