the client is doing a broadcast WINS request to try to resolve the name into an ip address. Maybe your host failed to look this name up in DNS so it is using NBNS(==WINS) as a fallback mode. It is unlikely to succeed though since while NETBIOS names may contain '.' DNS hostnames are not.
