You absolutely have to start here: http://homepage.mac.com/sao1/fink/index.html then, as far as running Ethereal, you need two things: - X running (read above how to install) - the stable and unstable branches of fink, for latest versions of everything - you don't need no stinking fink-commander - the CLI is just fine Read also the archive of this list - I think I have answered similar things in the past, with some additional links.
