For those who recently posted about Ethereal 10.6 crashing, especially in WIN98, the fix below may work.  Posted 10/6/04.

I uninstalled 10.6 and installed 10.5a with WinPCap 3.0.  That works for me.

I uninstalled Ethereal, and when I reinstalled it again, I selected the GTK-Wimp box (it's deselected by default) in the  " Choose Components"  window, that did it.
