[Ethereal-users] Bug: Ethereal on ppp device hangs in futex

Hi,

With all recent versions of ethereal (unfortunately I can't tell exactly
which version it started with, it has not always been that way) I have
the following problem:

My machine has a DSL/PPPoE network connection. When I capture the traffic
on the ppp device, sooner or later (usually pretty soon) ethereal (only
the user interface, the capture window stays responsive) gets stuck. It
seems that the program doesn't simply crash: In all cases, the process
list shows that ethereal is waiting on channel "futex_queue".

It seems like this is only happening when I capture on the ppp device -
when I use the underlying ethernet interface it works (unfortunately, then
it shows lots of PPP packets, that usually don't interest me but can't be
filtered out because doing so weeds out everything)

Any ideas?
