I.e., if you try to open a file, you get

	GLib-ERROR **: gmem.c:140: failed to allocate 2147483649 bytes
	aborting...

Does that happen if you try to open *any* file, or just if you try to
open a particular file?

It's better to send the text of the error (as I did above) - not
everybody has software that can read .bmp screenshot files, and .bmps
are a bit big and can be a problem for people on slow networks.
