I think that the "Follow TCP stream" functionality in Ethereal can be useful when looking
at IMAP. You can even save to a file.

It is useful not only for IMAP, but also for a lot of other protcols...

Select one IMAP packet and the use the menu item "Analyze/Follow TCP stream" (or
"Follow TCP stream" from the right-click menu).
