I am a student begynner with Ethereal and wlan monitoring under Linux (Mandrake 10). I manage to capture management (mainly beacon) and data frames on a 802.11b network but no control frame.
Has anyone already experienced this problem and eventually found a solution?
I have read that some cards cannot be put in rfmon mode in a correct way and thus do not capture control frames. Is it the case with cisco aironet cards? If this is actually the problem, which cards could I use?
If sure I am not the first one trying this and I would really appreciate help.
