...and the traffic would have to be carried over a link layer on which
Ethereal can capture; that would require that

	1) the machine on which Ethereal is running has a device that
	   can capture on that link layer;

	2) the OS on which Ethereal is running has a driver that
	   supports capture on that device;

	3) libpcap supports capturing with that driver.

That'd probably be the case for Ethernet, for example - but it's
probably not the case, for example, for over-the-air GSM traffic.
