A varieth of Ethernet, FDDI, Token Ring, 802.11, etc. interfaces.

That depends on the OS.  It captures only on interfaces that
libpcap/WinPcap supports on the OS on which you're running it; that
usually means the sort of interfaces that could support IP, as opposed
to the sort of links typically used for SS7.

I.e., we don't support capturing on telco-style SS7 links.  We do
support capturing various SS7 protocols when run atop Internet transport
protocols such as SCTP.
