well, maybe. depends on what exactly you may want to do with it.
say for example your end applications, i.e. packet source/sink
do not give you thruput/performance measurement, or you want to
check that they give it accurately, you may do some sampling of
packets using ethereal, and get the metrices yourself, i.e. by
reading the packets off the wire.
