Not sure if this is the right question, but clear the packet you select must be TCP (not just IP). If you add "tcp" as a display filter this will then only display packets that are valid for further TCP stream analysis Martin Visser Network Consultant - Global Services COMPAQ, part of the new HP 3 Richardson Place North Ryde, Sydney NSW 2113, Australia Phone *: +61-2-9022-1670 Mobile *: +61-411-254-513 Fax 7: +61-2-9022-1800 E-mail * : martin.visser@xxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: Chad Hall [mailto:chad_hall@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, 10 July 2002 3:05 PM To: ethereal-users@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [Ethereal-users] TCP Stream Analysis tools not working I have a capture of TCP/IP traffic taken by Sniffer Pro which I have loaded into Ethereal 0.9.5 running on NT 4.0. I am trying to invoke the analysis/graphing functions, but no matter what I do I get a warning dialog with the message "Selected packet is not a TCP segment". Everywhere else, Ethereal seems to think it is a valid TCP segment. Any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong? Have I perhaps missed something in the installation?
