A good book is "TCP/IP Illustrated, Volume 1: The Protocols" you can read it online at: http://safari.informit.com Alternatively a great tool for automated checking of TCP streams is NetSense: http://www.wildpackets.com/products/netsense It is expensive but the demo can read 250 packets, so just select the stream your interested in and export it to a separate capture file. Finally, remember Networking is Asynchronous and time based. You could be looking at a race condition or simply a browser behavioural artefact. Try Netscape instead of IE etc. -- Gordon McKinney http://www.night-ray.com Mobile +44 (0)7770-957 627
