If you go to Edit:Protocols you can turn off the decoding of any higher-layer protocols you don't wish decoded if this is helpful. For instance if you deselect HTTP any HTTP traffic will show up as TCP Hope this helps, Martin Martin Visser Network Consultant - Compaq Global Services Compaq Computer Australia 3 Richardson Place North Ryde, Sydney NSW 2113 Australia Phone: +61-2-9022-1670 Mobile: +61-411-254-513 Email:martin.visser@xxxxxxxxxx > -----Original Message----- > From: ethereal-users-admin@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ethereal-users-admin@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Martin, Richard D > Sent: Friday, 3 May 2002 1:32 PM > To: 'Ethereal Mailing List' > Subject: Showing Summary of All Protocol Layers in "Primary Pane" > > Is it possible to display a summary of all the protocol layers in the primary decode pane of Ethereal?(similar to the way Sniffer works)? For example, in Sniffer's main decode pane, you change the display to show a summary of all the protocols rather than just the highest layer protocol. This is helpful when I'm trying to follow a TCP conversation(sequence--ack) between two hosts that's going on below the higher layer protocol. Right now, I'm only able to see the highest layer protocol displayed on Ethereal's primary decode pane. I haven't found a display option will do this. Thanks very much. > > Rick Martin > Boeing Space and Communcations
