Just out of curiosity, if there isn't a user profile directory, where do
applications with per-user configuration files store those files?

Ethereal's trying to create the directory to hold the "Ethereal"
directory, but it's not being careful enough.  I'll fix that for the
next release.

> To work around, create the directory 'C:\ethereal' manually and move, if
> necessary, the  files created by former versions into that directory.

Or just rename "c:\.ethereal" to "c:\Ethereal".
