Folks,

When "Automatic scrolling in live capture" is enabled, the screen
scrolls to show the latest packet received even when that packet is not
displayed because it has been filtered out by a display filter :-(

Better perhaps to apply the scrolling criteria after filtering, so the
screen only scrolls when a new packet is displayed?

Click Capture then Start.

Either

a) Click the filter button and choose a saved pre-tested and known good
filter, or
b) Type a filter criteria

OK the capture preferences.

Get a warning "Unable to parse filter string (parse error)." sometimes
with random chars appended. Screenshot attached.

Random chars or not, I never get past this warning (ie never get a good
filter string).
