[Ethereal-users] Ethernet LAN emulation in a switched network.

Hi ,
  I am a computer science graduate student interested in networking and 
am working,at the moment on emulating a ethernet LAN on a switched 
network .
  I am on the lookout for packet forwarding agents for Linux/Unix. 
  If anybody can help with some useful examples / software or even some 
useful pointers in the right direction ,I would be eternally grateful .
