[Ethereal-users] ethereal won't start ??

Hi,

 

I am trying to fire up ethereal under suse linux v7.0/ also failed on v6.4.

 

When I try to load it I get a "segmentation fault". Hardware is a thinkpad 390e.

 

Running "ethereal -v " reveals the following:

 

ethereal 0.8.9, with gtk+ 1.2.8, with libpcap 0.4a6, with libz 1.1.3, with UCD SNMP 4.1.1

 

Could someone please suggest how this newbie troubleshoot this?

 

Other packages run fine, like nmap, tcpdump, snort.
