[Ethereal-dev] formatting output of tethereal?

Hello everybody!

I think this is a feature request - at least I didn't find a way to do that 
now, but I'm happy if I'm wrong :-)


What I'd like to do is to give tethereal (and possibly ethereal too) a format 
specification like "%ip.src %ip.dest %ip.ttl\n" and have it emit exactly this 
fields in exactly this format.

I believe that that is reasonably simple but would provide me/us with 
tremendous advantages for batch processing.

Is that possible yet? Currently I print a dump in a file (with ethereal) and 
post-process that with perl.
